Turku Åbo

Live2011.com GP deadline extended to August 2, 2010

Turku, the European Capital of Culture for 2011, has initiated the world's largest media art and new media competition. The aim of the competition is to highlight and support the growing field of digital media, and to emphasise the significance of social media in interacting with others and forming a sense of community. By intro- ducing Live2011.com we wish to recognize and promote the importance of established annual media art events, such as Prix Ars Electronica and EMAF, whose work over the years and its significance to the field is most central.

To ensure the correctness of the graphic layout in this site, we recommend viewing it with Firefox, Internet Explorer 8, Safari or Opera.

The total sum of all the prizes exceeds 140,000 euro. Any work entered in the competition will be presented to the global audience online through the Capital of Culture's Live2011.com site, and live at different media art events and in Turku during the Capital of Culture year. Artists and content producers working in the digital format are invited to enter the competition in eight different categories.
Please note: you can only participate with works published 1st of January 2009 or later!
